Ms. Hosler's Homepage
Welcome to Ms. Hosler's homepage
I am the Mandarin teacher here at Mountain Range High school, and my name is Lulu Hosler. My students like to call me "Han laoshi"
I come from Liaoning Province, which is located in the northeast of China. I enjoy teaching immensely and I love sharing my knowledge of China and its culture with students. To many students' surprise, Mandarin is not as difficult as some people think as long as they have the right way of learning. I am sure the students will find lots of fun in my lessons and they'll also learn a lot about China and Chinese in my class. Why study Chinese?
- China is one of the world's oldest and richest continuous cultures, over 5000 years old.
- 1/5 of the planet speaks Chinese. Mandarin Chinese is the mother tongue of over 873 million people, making it the most widely spoken first language in the world. Beside China there are many countries use it too, such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
- China is the second largest economy in the world and the first trading partner of United States. Many US companies do business in China and have long term investments there.
- International businesses prefer to hire people who speak more than one language. China has become a huge market, and business leaders are looking for people who can speak Chinese and understand Chinese cultures.Knowing Chinese may give you an opportunity when competing for an important position.
