TAILWINDS OF HOPE – ZACHARY MICHAEL CAPRA MEMORIAL

This scholarship was established in memory of Zachary Capra who graduated from Mountain Range High School, Class of 2011.  Zachary was a Navy Veteran and was studying to become a commercial airline pilot at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  Zachary was killed April 4, 2018, when the small engine plane he was flying crashed just after takeoff in Daytona Beach, FL while he was conducting his final check ride to obtain his commercial pilot’s license.  Zachary was awarded a posthumous degree of Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics.

OUTDOOR COLORADO - GROSSMAN SCHOLARSHIP

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado recently opened applications for our Grossman Scholarships, which offer $5,000 to Colorado residents who have demonstrated a commitment to caring for our environment’s natural resources and are pursuing post-secondary education through an accredited environmental, natural resource, climate, or outdoor industry related education program in Colorado.

Help us spread the word! Two of the scholarships are for graduating high school seniors, and two are for graduate or non-traditional students. I’ve attached a flyer about each scholarship, as well as some sample language below that you can edit and share as appropriate.

Offered through Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), the Grossman Scholarship Program awards $5,000 to Colorado residents who have demonstrated a commitment to caring for our environment’s natural resources and intend to further this commitment through a post-secondary program related to the environment, natural resources, climate, or the outdoor industry. Learn more at www.voc.org/scholarship and apply by March 31!
