COCA-COLA SCHOLARSHIP - $20,000 scholarship opportunity


TAILWINDS OF HOPE – ZACHARY MICHAEL CAPRA MEMORIAL

This scholarship was established in memory of Zachary Capra who graduated from Mountain Range High School, Class of 2011.  Zachary was a Navy Veteran and was studying to become a commercial airline pilot at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  Zachary was killed April 4, 2018, when the small engine plane he was flying crashed just after takeoff in Daytona Beach, FL while he was conducting his final check ride to obtain his commercial pilot’s license.  Zachary was awarded a posthumous degree of Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics.

OUTDOOR COLORADO - GROSSMAN SCHOLARSHIP

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado recently opened applications for our Grossman Scholarships, which offer $5,000 to Colorado residents who have demonstrated a commitment to caring for our environment’s natural resources and are pursuing post-secondary education through an accredited environmental, natural resource, climate, or outdoor industry related education program in Colorado.

Help us spread the word! Two of the scholarships are for graduating high school seniors, and two are for graduate or non-traditional students. I’ve attached a flyer about each scholarship, as well as some sample language below that you can edit and share as appropriate.

Offered through Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), the Grossman Scholarship Program awards $5,000 to Colorado residents who have demonstrated a commitment to caring for our environment’s natural resources and intend to further this commitment through a post-secondary program related to the environment, natural resources, climate, or the outdoor industry. WOMEN’S ENERGY NETWORK OF COLORADO – Kelly De La Torre Scholarship

The Women’s Energy Network of Colorado (WENCO) Kelly de la Torre Scholarship Fund was established in memory of a former founding member of Women In Energy friend Kelly de la Torre.

Eligibility Requirements: Please note that if the below requirements are not fully met, WENCO won’t be able to consider you for a scholarship.

·         Must be female, attend high school and in senior year and reside in Colorado.

·         Must be a S.T.E.M. major with an intent to study or pursue a career in energy

·         Must have an average 3.5 GPA with proof from high school transcript and high school administrator’s contact information.

·         Must plan to attend an accredited 4-year university.

·         Must have proof of registration prior to disbursement of scholarship funds.

·         Must have two (2) letters of recommendation that include contact information for them and are not relatives. References must be 21 or older.

Hispanic Advisory Council members are again sponsoring college and post-secondary training scholarships for Adams 12 graduating seniors.  Eligibility for scholarships will be determined by the HAC Scholarship Committee based upon service and commitment to the Hispanic Community now and in the future.  All seniors graduating in the 2020-2021 school year from Adams 12 Five Star Schools are welcome to apply. A minimum of five at $500 and two at $1,000 will be awarded. 

Applications can be submitted via this Google Fill in Form or by mailing, emailing or ponying the attached application in Word to Frances Mullins at the Education Support Center (ESC).  Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 19.
