When is GT testing in my school?
Universal Screening: In Adams 12 Five Star Schools, 2nd and 6th graders who are not already identified GT participate in the Universal Screening process for potential gifted and talented identification. Find more detailed information regarding Universal Screening in the Five Star District.
Important dates for the Universal Screening process at our school: Because identification at the high school level is so rare, we do not do universal screening here. Rather, identification of GT students is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please see the “recommendations” section of this document.
Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation: All students can participate in the GT identification process by submitting a complete body of evidence. Find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in the Five Star District.
If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT identification process you need to contact your GT Coordinator for school-specific information.
Important dates for the GT Recommendation process at our school: None. We can do testing/identification at any time of the year. Testing done in the Spring may lead to identification being formalized the following school year.

Our school offerings include: We offer advanced coursework in every content area and at all levels. The best pathway for your student may be labeled College Prep (CP), Honors, or AP. We also offer an advanced media production room, and encourage students to sign up to be involved in Mustang TV. We are very proud to offer challenging coursework for all of our learners here at Mountain Range.
Differentiated Learning Pathways: “The Roadmap”
Provides an education at the appropriate level of readiness and challenge
Our school offerings include: At MRHS, we differentiate most often via student choice. However, if students of demonstrated ability and maturity seek advanced offerings outside of the traditional course progression, their desires MAY be accommodated provided the scheduling works. If you feel your student’s needs are not being met by the traditional pathway of course offerings, please reach out to email@example.com for further conversation and problem-solving.
Individualized Opportunities & Enrichment: “The Customized Options”

Our school offerings include: As a comprehensive high school, we offer a bevy of opportunities outside of the classroom. Some popular ones include our DECA and FBLA programs, the High School of Business pathway, our robotics club, art clubs (AP coursework offerings are also available), music and band, and choir.

Our school offerings include: Our staff at MRHS is among the most dedicated to student success you can find anywhere. We understand that academic success is absolutely related to, even dependent on, students feeling safe, valued, heard, and cared for. The community our teachers create in their classrooms is one of the best parts of the mountain. We have a large, dedicated counseling department, to support students who need a friendly ear.
