Summer Chromebook Information

Computer Keyboard and sun with the words Summer Chromebook Information

Dear Mountain Range High School families,

We are excited to let you know that students in grades 3-11 can keep their district-issued Chromebooks over the summer as long as they are attending a school in our district next year.

It is our hope that this resource will help students stay connected to learning resources over the summer and get next school year off to a strong start!

Here are some of the resources available to students this summer.

Important information

  • If you are moving or your child will not be attending a school in Adams 12 Five Star Schools in August, please ensure that your child returns their Chromebook to school before they leave for the summer.
  • If your student is moving to another school in the district, they can keep their device over the summer and bring it with them to their new school in the fall.
  • If you choose to not keep a device over the summer, please have your child get an exception request in the library and return it to your school.  Please note: families are responsible for picking up their device before the start of school.
  • Graduating seniors need to return their devices.
  • As a reminder, here are the student commitment and expectations for device checkout.
  • Any devices not renewed will incur a $250 fine. We are renewing devices May 17, 19, and 20 in Social Studies classes. If your child didn’t renew in their class because their chromebook was not with them that day, please have them renew it in the library before the last day of school.
  • If a charger is lost, it's a $35 fine. Or, families can purchase a charger elsewhere, usually at a better price. Chromebooks require a 45 watt USB-C Type charger to power the student’s Chromebook similar to these models from Amazon.
  • Move over the summer? Students can return their devices and chargers to the ESC or Thornton High School if they are changing school districts over the summer months:
    • Tuesdays from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. at Thornton High, 9351 Washington St, Thornton, CO 80229
    • Thursdays from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the ESC, 1500 E 128th Ave, Thornton, CO 80241
