Student Identification Cards: Library barcodes are on the student identification cards and will be used to check out materials and to check in to the library.
Circulation Policies: Books can be checked out for three weeks and may be renewed for an additional three weeks. The student must bring the book to the library to renew it. Materials more than 30 days overdue will roll over to lost. Students will then be charged the replacement value of the item, but fines are deleted once books are returned. Materials from other libraries in the district can be requested via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The minimum amount of time for delivery is four days. Books borrowed from other schools follow that school’s library policies. Textbooks and class novels are also checked out through the library. Any textbooks or library materials should be returned to the library before a student withdraws.
Students in the Library: Students are welcome to study (or just relax) in the library during a off/lunch period on a space available basis. Students should eat lunch or breakfast before going to the library as we are a no food zone. If the library is full, students are asked to return to the cafeteria. Students that are disruptive may also be asked to return to the cafeteria. All students are required to scan in using their ID card at the circulation desk. Students without an ID may key their ID in on the keypad by the circulation desk.
Use of Technology: Library computers are for academic use first, and students not using a computer for academic reasons may be asked to give up their space for students using a computer for academic reasons. LanSchool Software is installed on all library computers. Student computer use is closely monitored and students will be blocked and asked to log off if found using the technology inappropriately. Students may not download programs to the computers or any drive without permission.
