Mr. Evans holds a degree in Music Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and is currently in his 16th year as a band director. Prior to coming to Mountain Range, he taught four years at Sheridan High School and two at Vail Mountain School.
Before obtaining his degree in 2004, Mr. Evans spent nine years as a percussion instructor and assistant director at many Denver-area schools, including Dakota Ridge, Golden, Englewood, Eaglecrest, and Bear Creek. Having entered college with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician, it was during this time that he fell in love with teaching and switched paths. Mr. Evans' ensembles have since earned numerous honors, including six state championships in winter percussion and marching band.
Mr. Evans' musical passion is percussion, and he has proudly given his time to serve on the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association's Board of Directors. He also served five years as RMPA's Executive Director, two years as Contest Administrator, and was inducted into the RMPA Hall of Fame in 2015.
The only thing Mr. Evans loves more than music is his family. He has been happily married to his wife, Rachelle, for seventeen years and is the proud father of Jonah (12) and Taylor (7).
